According to the Malta Tourism Authority's Tourism in Malta: Facts & Figures report p.12: almost half (47.3%) of tourist who visited Malta in 2019 named digital media as the communication channel that influenced their choice of destination.

Google is among the top digital media channels used by prospective tourists. Wikipedia/Wikidata power Google results significantly and the first link on Google when you perform a search for Malta is the Wikipedia article about the country.
