About the event

Following up on the successful workshops in Rome in 2016 and 2018 and in Avignon in 2020 this event is designed to provide similar skills on the basic essentials for anyone already editing Wikipedia and/or exploring other Wikimedia projects at the EFI offices in Bonn, Germany.

About the event

Following up on the successful workshops at Bioversity in Rome in 2016 and 2018 this event is designed to spread similar skills to the broader network of EURORGEN at Avignon #rescueforest conference the opportunity for new Wikipedians and a refresher on the basic essentials for anyone already editing Wikipedia and/or exploring other Wikimedia projects.

  • Goal for the day: explore the power of Wikipedia as a knowledge-sharing tool and learn editing basics.
Agenda
9:00 am - 10:00 am: General induction and orientation to Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects
10:00 am - 10:45 am: Exploring the subject area/s of interest to the participants in the room
10:45 am - 11:00 am: Coffee break
11:00 am - 12.00: Preparing to contribute to specific Wikipedia pages and/or wikidata.org and/or Wikimedia Commons
12.00 - 1:30 pm: Lunch break
1:30 pm - 3.00 pm: Editing workshop to apply skills and knowledge acquired during morning sessions
